Sri Lanka-based operator Dialog Axiata has expanded its 5G roaming footprint to 40 countries through partnerships with more than 150 operators worldwide.
In a statement, Dialog said its 5G roaming service supports speeds of up to 1Gbps, enhancing connectivity for subscribers travelling abroad.
To further drive 5G adoption locally, the operator has also teamed up with Chinese vendor ZTE to launch what it claims is Sri Lanka’s most affordable 5G smartphone.
Lim Li San, Group Chief Operating Officer at Dialog Axiata, said the move reinforces the company’s leadership in technology and innovation:
“Our commitment to providing seamless, high-speed connectivity for our customers remains unwavering, and this milestone underscores our mission to deliver a world-class mobile experience, whether at home or abroad.”
The new Dialog-branded 5G smartphone, released in late July, is priced at LKR35,999 (US$120). Key specifications include 6GB of RAM, 128GB of internal storage, a 5,000mAh battery, and a 6.75-inch HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The device features a dual rear camera setup with a 50MP primary sensor and a 2MP depth sensor, while the front-facing camera is equipped with an 8MP lens.
