Music Box launches in Germany via waipu.tv

Music Box Group is entering the German market with its Music Box Classic channel joining streaming platform waipu.tv.

Thanks to this partnership, the channel can now reach more than 2 million subscribers in Germany.

“With over 20 music channels, waipu.tv is already the market leader in this genre – across all forms of reception. We search the world for the best content, and this deal proves it once again: waipu.tv is the first platform to bring Music Box Classic to German viewers,” said Michael Marberg, Head of New TV Partnerships at waipu.tv.

Music Box Classic is dedicated to pop and rock classics of recent decades. The playlists are curated each day by an editorial team. All music videos have been remastered using proprietary technology, allowing them to be broadcast in Full HD quality.

“This is an important milestone for the growth of our group. Germany is a large and mature market – demanding, but full of opportunity. We believe in our product and are focused on success,” said Serge Kobel, CEO of Music Box Group.

Music Box launched in 1984 in the UK. Today, the Warsaw-based broadcaster operates music channels in several countries, including Poland, Ukraine, Israel, Georgia, and Gibraltar.

Entering the German market marks another step in the expansion of the group. In today’s world of streaming services and algorithms, the Music Box channels offer an alternative, aiming to prove that curated music television can still be better than any YouTube or Spotify playlist.
