Minister Gurung explained that slow internet or bad phone signals could cause big problems for Nepal’s digital goals. These goals are about using technology to make the government work better and help people in their daily lives. For example, digital governance means using computers and the internet to make government services faster and easier to use, like paying bills online or getting information quickly.
Right now, many people in Nepal use 4G to watch videos, talk to friends, or do schoolwork online. But not every home has 4G, and 5G, which is even faster, is only available in a few places. The minister wants Nepal Telecom to make sure everyone gets 4G soon and to start bringing 5G to more cities and villages. 5G can make the internet super fast, so people can do things like video calls or download big files in seconds.
If Nepal Telecom doesn’t act quickly, the minister warned that it could slow down the country’s progress.
