Kyivstar expands 4G to 96% of Ukraine’s controlled territory

Kyivstar continues to strengthen Ukraine's digital infrastructure, focusing on network development and modernization. As of now, the company has the largest 4G coverage among all electronic communications operators in Ukraine and continues to expand its network.

The full-scale war further emphasized the importance of reliable communication for millions of Ukrainians - for communication, work, access to information and government services. Therefore, despite all the challenges caused by military aggression, Kyivstar did not stop the development of the network. In the first half of 2025 alone, 2,775 new base stations were built, and 4G coverage was expanded to more than 370 settlements. From February 2022 to today, the LTE network has covered more than 4,800 new settlements. Today, 96% of the population in the territory controlled by Ukraine has access to 4G from Kyivstar.

In addition, Kyivstar is systematically building networks along highways. Currently, about 13 thousand kilometers of roads of international and national importance are covered by 4G connectivity.

In June 2024, during the International Conference on the Restoration of Ukraine, Kyivstar announced its intention to invest $1 billion in the development and restoration of Ukraine's digital infrastructure between 2023 and 2027 and has been steadfast in its investment commitments.

Volodymyr Lutchenko, Kyivstar Technical Director

Today, you can drive the Kyiv-Lviv highway practically without interrupting a video call if you are a Kyivstar subscriber. We continue to build the network exactly where people need it most - not only in cities, but also along roads, in rural areas. Reliable mobile communication and the Internet should be available regardless of where the subscriber is located.
