du, the leading telecom and digital services provider in the UAE, has become the first telecommunications operator in the region to offer access to the prestigious Cisco Networking Academy. This initiative supports the UAE’s vision of Emiratization by nurturing and developing local talent through high-quality training in critical technology fields such as artificial intelligence (AI), programming, cybersecurity, networking, and data science.
The Cisco certification program is integrated into du’s broader talent development framework and the Future X initiative, which focuses on fostering technical skills among young Emiratis and preparing them for future challenges and opportunities within the rapidly evolving tech-driven economy. The program’s journey began with a successful inaugural cohort of 14 Emirati graduates who earned Cisco certifications. Building on this momentum, the upcoming cohort will expand to include 52 UAE Nationals.
du’s Cisco certification program is organized into three specialized tracks designed to equip participants with industry-relevant skills essential for thriving in the global technology landscape. The Cybersecurity Track offers a strong foundation in key cybersecurity concepts, training learners to identify threats, monitor suspicious network activity, and implement robust security protocols. The Networking Track covers the fundamentals of hardware, operating systems, and network security, with hands-on training using Cisco technologies to build and maintain networks. The Programming Track is tailored for beginners, providing comprehensive instruction in Python programming, the Internet of Things (IoT), and REST APIs, culminating in practical, job-ready programming skills.
