Movistar, the brand under which Integratel Perú operates, achieved a new milestone in the modernization of its mobile networks by refurbishing 1,000 base stations to strengthen the 4G network. This initiative will transform mobile connectivity in terms of quality and user experience. It will also enable a technologically prepared network for the upcoming development of 5G. Movistar achieved this first milestone in the second quarter of 2025 and plans to surpass 5,000 modernized stations across much of the country by 2027.
Movistar's new network significantly improves download speeds, coverage, and data traffic capacity. Furthermore, the technology implemented allows more users and devices to connect simultaneously without affecting signal quality. The project is supported by the integration of cutting-edge technologies that enable improved network management and optimized spectrum use, as well as a reduced environmental impact due to a 10% reduction in energy consumption, which translates into a smaller carbon footprint. In this way, Movistar continues its technological transformation process with a renewed commitment to its customers.
