Croatia's telecom market grows 7.1% in Q1

Croatia's electronic communications market generated 441 million euro ($506 million) in revenue in the first quarter, up by 7.1% on the year, the country's telecommunications regulator, HAKOM, said.

Total investments by telecom operators rose 25.8% on the year, with fixed network investments alone increasing by 30%, HAKOM said in a press release on Monday.

Revenue from mobile communications services rose 6.65% year-on-year in the first quarter, while revenue from fixed network services increased by 8.0%.

In the first quarter of 2025, the number of fibre-optic connections rose by 99,781 year-on-year, reaching a total of 382,890, while copper-based connections declined by 70,628.

The number of connections via very high capacity networks (VHCN) reached 543,129 in the first quarter, accounting for 46.98% of all 1,156,044 fixed broadband Internet access connections.

Total revenue from pay-TV services rose to 36.7 million euro in the first quarter, up 11.57% year-on-year.
