Kyivstar rebuilds Ukraine infrastructure with 800+ 4G towers

Kyivstar has announced that, in the first quarter of 2025, the company built 828 new base stations and expanded 4G coverage to 139 more settlements. In times of war, Kyivstar's network plays a vital role for the entire country - connecting citizens, supporting the economy and government structures. That is why the company has identified the modernization and expansion of its infrastructure as one of the key strategic directions aimed at strengthening Ukraine's digital foundation.

As of May 2025, Kyivstar provided access to high-speed 4G Internet and high-quality mobile communications for 95.9% of the population in the territory controlled by Ukraine. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the company has carried out over 22 thousand modernizations of existing base stations and built over 9 thousand new ones. The total volume of capital investments in network development since 2022 has exceeded UAH 26.4 billion. Kyivstar will continue to invest in expanding 4G coverage within the framework of fulfilling license obligations for new spectrum in the 2100 MHz and 2300 MHz bands, which was purchased at an auction in November 2024.

In 2025, 4G connectivity appeared in dozens of new settlements, including 12 in Mykolaiv region, 7 in Ivano-Frankivsk region, and 6 in Volyn region. 94 new technological sites were also built along key highways. In particular, on the Kyiv-Lviv highway near the village of Olesko, as well as on the Kyiv-Odesa highway near the village of Dubinove on the border of Odessa, Kirovohrad, and Mykolaiv regions. Thanks to this, as of May, almost 13 thousand km of roads of international and national importance were covered with high-quality 4G coverage.
