The acting Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Mawlavi Najibullah Hayat Haqqani, during his visit to Samangan, said the other day that 26 new telecommunications sites will be constructed in the province, according to a statement from the ministry. He instructed the telecommunication network officials to ensure the swift installation and activation of these sites within a timeframe of less than three months in the province, the statement said. Haqqani announces establishment of 26 new telecommunications sites in Samangan “Construction of these sites will not only cover remote regions of Samangan province but also connect the routes of Samangan Pul-e-Khumri and Samangan Hairatan to telecommunication services,” the statement quoted him as saying. The ministry has been trying to establish new telecommunications sites in the country’s remote areas to expand network coverage, improve connectivity, and facilitate access to communication services for underserved populations, thereby supporting social inclusion, economic development, and emergency response capabilities in those regions.
