Airtel Uganda expands 4G network coverage to Kazo

Airtel Uganda has expanded its 4G network to Kazo District with the establishment and launch of new base stations in Rwemikoma as part of a broader drive to deploy more base stations and upgrade existing ones in the Ankole sub-region.

In a series of posts on X and LinkedIn on Tuesday, Airtel Uganda said the new base station in Kazo will not only drive digital inclusion for residents, but also create financial and employment prospects.

Airtel Uganda trade marketing manager Isaiah Wanjala encouraged the community to take advantage of the improved network by adopting more Airtel services. He also reminded customers to never share their PIN, “regardless of who calls you.”

Samuel Rumaari, chairperson LC3 of Rwemikoma, who attended the site’s launch ceremony, said the 4G site could also help provide extra security by enabling residents to install 4G-powered security cameras.

“With this 4G mast, you can install cameras to monitor your property, allowing you to identify those who steal from you or loiter around your home and farms,” he said.
