TIM expands 5G signal on Paulista Avenue with camouflaged antennas

Anyone crossing Avenida Paulista, the postcard of the capital São Paulo, may notice an improvement in 4G and 5G signals on smartphones. TIM installed eight new antennas along the almost 3km of the avenue, using the innovative Street Level Solution (SLS). This technology allows antennas to be camouflaged in elements of urban furniture, such as poles, magazine stands and traffic lights, using fiber optic transmission. The result is discreet and imperceptible structures, but which deliver an improved connectivity experience for residents and visitors to the region.

The operator, which has the largest mobile network in the country, continues to expand 5G in accordance with the company's strategic plan and maintains its investments in network infrastructure, always prioritizing the best connectivity experience for its customers. The new facilities represent an important evolution in the service.

In tests carried out at the last New Year's Eve party in Paulista, when there was a peak in the circulation of people, they collected network performance data that showed an increase of 49% in the volume of traffic traveled, going from 361GB to 541GB, of which 35% was traveled. on the 5G network. Regarding the data speed offered, there was an increase in the average 4G speed of 42% and stability of the 5G speed with an average of 170Mbps, even with a 97% growth in total 5G traffic.

Street-level antennas improve signal quality and guarantee an improved voice and data experience, being closer to users and their smartphones. The project also makes it possible to bypass physical barriers, ensuring more uniform coverage at ground level.

“The choice of Avenida Paulista to host the facilities was natural, as the company is committed to making its network increasingly robust in places with large circulation of people, as is the case in the region, where around 1.5 million of people walk daily.” Comments the Commercial Director of TIM São Paulo, Luiz Tozo.

The other notable points in the state of São Paulo that have already received the SLS were March 25th, a traditional popular shopping spot in the capital of São Paulo; the Pacaembu Stadium region; the city of Guarujá, which receives thousands of people looking for the beach; the Jardim Europa; the Berrini axis which includes part of Rua Funchal, Av. Chucri Zaidan and Av. Berrini; in addition to the city of Campos do Jordão, known for the traditional Winter Festival.
