Brazilian telecommunications operator Oi carried out 4G field tests during the 56th Telebrasil Panel in Brasilia, a two-day telecoms conference. A network using LTE technology installed there reached speeds of 88 Mbps, with bursts of up to 100 Mbps, during tests involving high definition videos in streaming on sites such as Youtube. During the event, 4G mini-modems were distributed so that participants could try out the new service on their own notebooks. The 4G tests were carried out by Oi in partnership with Nokia Siemens Networks, and were authorised by Anatel.
