Nokia 8 is launching on August 16th

The new Nokia 8 from the stable of HMD Global is expected to be unveiled on August 16th, and it will mark the first time a Nokia-branded Android device with Carl Zeiss optics.

Not only does this phone come with top of the line hardware, but also a seriously-upgraded rear camera that will have two lenses. The Nokia 8 will be the first Nokia-branded phone to come with the Zeiss camera since the launch of Nokia's Windows phones a few years ago.

The Nokia 8, seems to boast of a bezel-less design with a USB Type-C port and dual speakers at the bottom. The rear side of the phone features a slim vertical camera strip on the left side and is touted to be available in four colours, blue, black, purple and grey.

Earlier the rumours hinted that the phone would launch in June. Then came July 31 as the date for the launch. But the latest one is the real deal as August 16 gets confirmed with an official invite from Nokia.

The Nokia 8 price is largely expected to be EUR 589 (roughly Rs. 43,400).

Nokia 8 is rumoured to sport a 5.7-inch 2K display and feature a dual camera set up at the back with 13MP sensors and Carl Zeiss lens. There are also talks that the Nokia 8 could come with 23MP camera. Also, the smartphone could offer pure Android aka Vanilla experience with monthly security updates and patches.
