Sami Nashwan is the Vice President Strategy for Huawei Middle East based in Dubai. His responsibilities span from Huawei’s regional corporate strategy, to exploring and implementing innovative ways to Go-to-Market, in times where ecosystems, new technologies, and new digital operating models are key to success.

With his vast Telecom and Enterprise background, Sami is a trusted strategic advisor to the Middle East leadership team, his contribution is part of the regular strategic agenda setting for Huawei in the various countries.

Sami is a seasoned executive with more than 20 years of experience in the U.S., Germany and the Middle East.

Prior to joining Huawei, Sami was the Chief Consumer Officer for Mobily KSA, he was a founding member of the team that created the green field operator in start-up mode in 2004 achieving peak annual revenues of more than 6bn USD and having more than 3500 staff under his responsibility.

He was the commercial leader for the long term strategic plans where Mobily was seen at one point to be the innovation leader in telecommunications in the region. Not only did he shape the consumer leadership position within the Saudi market, but Sami was instrumental in building the foundations for the B2B business. He served as a member of the Innovation Board, as well as the leader for the customer experience strategy. In addition to the operational leadership roles, he served in the Etisalat Group Digital Services board to help shape the digitization strategy for Mobily and Etisalat Group.

Prior to Mobily, Sami worked as a progressive international executive of both very large and small teams, with proven track record in Management Consulting, start-ups and mature organizations in Germany, USA (Silicon Valley) and GCC.

In addition to his double degree in European Business Administration, he has attended Executive Development Programs in Insead, London Business School and Kellogg School of Management.
