edotco partners Getco to develop telco infrastructure in Bangladesh

edotco Bangladesh (edotco BD), an integrated telecommunications infrastructure services company in Bangladesh, has entered into a partnership with Bangladesh-based conglomerate Getco as a 30% shareholder and strategic partner.

The telco services company said in a statement today it will partner with Getco through its subsidiary Greencon Tower Company Ltd to provide next-generation infrastructure to deal with Bangladesh's growing connectivity needs, including applying for a recently announced tower sharing licence.

edotco CEO Suresh Sidhu said, "Our partnership with Getco is fundamental to enabling transformation within the telecommunication sector. Tower companies are the backbone of telecommunications development as we ensure the right infrastructure is in place."

"As the country gears towards its 'Digital Bangladesh 2021' vision that aims to unlock digital transformation for millions of citizens, we hope to fuel these efforts by introducing pioneering solutions to accelerate connectivity and infrastructure innovation," he added.

edotco BD owns and operates over 9,000 telecom towers throughout Bangladesh and over 27,000 towers in six different countries.

The Getco Group, which began in 1972, is a consortium that provides sales, after-market support and consulting services to government, semi government and private organisations in multiple industries such as oil and gas, infrastructure, telecommunications, power, railways and defence.

Established in 2012, edotco, which is a subsidiary of Axiata Group Bhd, is the first regional and integrated telecommunications infrastructure services company in Asia, providing end-to-end solutions in the tower services sector from tower leasing, co-locations, build-to-suit, energy, transmission and operations and maintenance.
