Given the increasing transition of services and storage into the cloud, as well as the prevalence for mobile services and applications, du has announced the launch of its first Cyber Security Conference, an event that will bring together industry leaders to discuss pertinent topics and trends affecting online security.

The du Cyber Security Conference will be held on 19 September at the Armani Hotel Dubai. Osman Sultan, CEO, du, will present an opening speech, followed by keynote speaker Marc Maiffret, Chief Technology Officer, BeyondTrust.

Speaking throughout the day-long session are Ahmad Al Mulla, Vice President, Dubai Aluminium (DUBAL); Saeed Belhoul, Director e-Government Operations, Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA); Samir Omar, MEA Business Development Manager, Verizon; Bashar Bashaireh, Regional Director, Fortinet Middle East ; Ian Evans , Managing Director, EMEA, AirWatch ; Maitham H. “Cyber security is an increasing relevant topic in a world that is relying more and more heavily on connectivity solutions to make life and business easier than ever before. Given the preference for companies to turn to managed and cloud-based solutions for the convenience and savings potential they present, we realised that it was especially important at this time to inform and education the UAE’s security business leaders on how to protect the infrastructure of electronic intrusions and protect information, while encouraging discussion that will lead to the development of the cyber security sector in the UAE,” said Marwan Abdulla Bin Dalmook, Senior Vice President - Technology Security & Risk Management, Operations, du.

He added, “Security must be integrated into the very fabric of an organisation, and it takes a security-conscious organisation such as we are to ensure that every level of cyber protection is met.”

The du Cyber Security Conference will be an annual event, promoting and sharing information about the latest developments in cyber security, including information security risks, threats, vulnerabilities and safeguards.
