Peru’s Agency for the Promotion of Private Investment (ProInversion) has delayed the auction of spectrum in the 700MHz band until Q1 2016, La Republica reports. Originally scheduled for 2013, the auction has since been postponed several times, with sales lined up to take place in June 2014, then December 2014, Q1 2015 and now Q1 2016, although no reason has been given for the delays. Three blocks of the highly sought-after frequencies are up for grabs, and all four of the nation’s cellcos – Movistar, Claro, Entel and Bitel – have expressed an interest in bidding for the airwaves.
