Orange Poland has carried out its first test of G.fast technology at its Orange Labs, trialling a fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) service package with downlink/uplink speeds of 300Mbps/30Mbps, high definition TV (HDTV) and voice-over-internet protocol (VoIP) services, the operator said in a blog post. The operator added that the development and adoption of G.fast technology would allow it to provide end users with download speeds of more than 500Mbps over copper lines. Orange plans to pilot the technology in late 2015.
