TRA begins culture transformation innovation project through high performance

TRA Bahrain began last week the first steps towards an initiative to transform the culture of the Authority. TRA Director of Human Resources & Finance, Mr. Faisal Al Jalahma had stated that " This is a new chapter for TRA in its dedication to excellence at the international level." Mr. Al Jalahma added"We make continuous strides towards shaping our staff to be always in the forefront . Through training, exposing their talents and skills to the right experience, and assessing our needs, we are now ready to focus on creating and bolstering the right organizational culture. Not only does culture magnify TRA's image as an employer of choice, but it makes the standard of excellence our unique identifier and part of our DNA."

TRA has begun a journey of culture transformation towards excellence since several years where it won the 2014 Award of Excellence for the institutional excellence and quality of performance.

The first phase of this project concentrates on gathering information and identifying the gaps. A visiting professor from BOND University, Dr. James R. Carlopio, who conducted the information gathering process, met with key staff members in TRA to ascertain the information necessary to move forward.

Dr. Carlopio commented on the initiative, saying that " Bond University is thrilled to continue its relationship with TRA and to have this exciting opportunity to collaborate. The Authority's staff are doing some very interesting things and I'm impressed with their degree of knowledge. Changing any organization's culture is ambitious and very wise for a technical organization to consider and see value in. The Authority is making all the right moves, and we're happy to help."

Dr. Carlopio is a management consultant and the author of five books on personal growth and development, organizational strategy and change, he has worked on projects for numerous Australian, European and US-based organizations, most recently in the areas of transformational change, organizational change, strategy design and implementation, 'green' change, the implementation of innovation and new technology, applying design principles and creativity to strategy design and development, personal change and influence, and organizational and management development.
