South African carrier access provider MetroFibre Networx (MFN) has launched fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) services in Midrand’s Glenferness through its main partner, internet service provider (ISP) Greencom, MyBroadband reports. Eligible subscribers can now sign up to uncapped FTTH services ranging from 10Mbps (ZAR683 [USD56.17] per month) to 100Mbps (ZAR2,849).
TeleGeography notes that MFN, which launched in 2010, focuses on selling its MEF 2.0 services to South Africa’s service providers. MFN currently hosts 28 ISPs (including MTN Business, Vox Telecom, MWEB, xDSL, Arc Telecoms and Altech Technology Concepts) at its network peering points. Its fibre-optic infrastructure connected 18 locations as of March 2015.
