Ooredoo Drives Human Growth Sponsoring Local Sporting Talent

Committed to driving human growth through sports, Ooredoo recently sponsored the Oman Equestrian Federation team at the Asian Championships in Delhi, in addition to supporting Laila Al Harthy, an Ooredoo family member, who represented the Sultanate in bowling at the 4th GCC Womens’ Games, held in Muscat for the first time.

With competitors from as far afield as the United States of America, the Oman Equestrian Federation team won a total of 14 medals at the Asian Championships, organised by the Indian Equestrian Federation. In addition and after a month of intensive training, Laila Al Harthy ranked highly, securing 4th place at the 4th GCC Womens’ Bowling event.

 

Al Lawati added, “The support that we offer to sportspeople is intended to provide unforgettable experiences, a chance for individuals and teams to showcase their talent to the world. The benefits of sport extends beyond competition and enjoyment into how people live their everyday lives, instilling values such as discipline and teamwork.  We hope that sport continues to inspire growth, success and ‘good living’ for the Oman Equestrian Federation team and for Laila Al Harthy.”

 

Its recent sponsorship agreements characterise Ooredoo’s approach towards encouraging healthy lifestyles and supporting sportspeoples’ ambitions, aspirations and growth. To date, Ooredoo has sponsored and held a number of events to drive growth through sports, including football, cricket, bowling and equestrian events, in addition to forming partnerships with local gymnasiums to promote greater health awareness and personal wellbeing.
