Industry and Commerce Minister Zayed Al Zayani opened a workshop 'eCommerce... Bahraini Platform... To Global Markets' at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre.
It is organised by eCommerce and Information Technology Directorate and Bahrain Technology Companies Society and sponsored by Alba and Batelco.
The minister asserted the government's interest for such initiatives which translate its orientations and strategies as well as are in line with the Economic Vision 2030.
He added that the government has focused on the concept of 'eCitizen' in order to spread digital literacy and provide an opportunity for all members of society to enhance their participation and transactions over the Internet on economic and social levels. In addition it seeks to enhance computer usage and reliance on services available online while taking into account the current economic challenges.
