Vodafone Greece claims LTE-A first

Vodafone claims that it has become the first operator in Greece to switch on a commercial Long Term Evolution-Advanced (LTE-A) network. The new platform, which is believed to aggregate spectrum in the 1800MHz and 2600MHz bands, supports theoretical down/uplink speeds of up to 300Mbps/50Mbps, double that offered by the operator’s LTE network, and seven times faster than the speeds available over its 3G network. Initially, Vodafone’s LTE-A network is available only in the vicinity of selected Vodafone retail stores in Athens.
