Bahrain's Batelco inks deal with LMRA to provide free calling cards

Batelco, Bahrain’s leading communications solutions provider, has entered into a partnership with the Bahrain Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) to support the LMRA’s efforts in regard to foreign workers employed in Bahrain.

Under the agreement, expat workers in Bahrain will benefit from a free Sim card service that aims to keep them in constant touch with the Authority.

The partnership agreement was signed by Batelco A/CEO Muna Al Hashemi and LMRA CEO Ausamah bin Abdulla Al Absi at a conference held at the LMRA’s Headquarters on January 18. A number of officials from both leading organisations were present on the occasion.

 ASRY, MoL sign pact to employ graduates

ASRY, the leading ship and rig repair yard in the Arabian Gulf, signed an agreement with the Ministry of Labour recently in which ASRY will employ 15 graduates of the Technical Secondary level after participating in the “Assistant Electrical Maintenance”, a programme within the Ministry’s scheme, “I Build my Country with my Own Hands”.

The agreement was signed by the Ministry of Labour’s Undersecretary, Subah Salem Al Doseri  and ASRY’s Chief Executive Officer Nils Kristian Berge. A number of Ministry and company officials were present.

 

BBK wins best customer overall website award

BBK, Bahrain’s pioneer in retail and commercial banking, won the prestigious award “Best Customer Experience Overall Website” in the 10th Annual Customer Experience Benchmarking Index 2014 that took place in Dubai last month.

Over the past years, BBK has been adopting the latest IT technologies and has continuously upgraded its website providing ease of use and more security for the clients. The Bank was the first local Bank to introduce comprehensive e-banking solutions and continues to be a pioneer and a market leader in its delivery channels.

 

InterContinental Regency Bahrain gets new GM

InterContinental Regency Bahrain named Jan Ifcic as the area general manager. Michael Koth, the outgoing regional general manager, made an announcement to this effect.

With 22 years of experience, Jan Ifcic brings to InterContinental Regency a wealth of industry knowledge in the luxury hotel segment. His most recent position was general manager at InterContinental Jordan, where under his leadership the hotel was recognised as one of the top performers of InterContinental Hotels Group AMEA 2014.

KHCB announces the winner of Al Waffer Mega Raffle Draw 2014

Khaleeji Commercial Bank (KHCB), one of Bahrain’s fast growing Islamic retail banks, recently held their Al Waffer Mega Raffle Draw, in which Umar Ahmed Malik was named the incredibly lucky winner of the mega prize of $200,000.

The draw was part of a 3-day fun-filled event organised by the KHCB from January 8 to 10 at Bahrain City Centre (BCC) to celebrate the success enjoyed by the bank in the year 2014. The mega raffle draw took place in the presence of KHCB officials including members from the executive management in addition to a representative from the Ministry of Industry and Commerce.

 

Al Hawaj holds New Year staff party

Major perfumery and cosmetics retailer Al Hawaj Group has held the Ahlan 2015 New Year Staff Party at the Diplomat Radisson Hotel, to celebrate the staff’s valuable service and to start the year on a positive note.

More than 250 employees and guests attended the event which featured motivational speeches from the management team, raffle draws, gift-giving to loyal employees who have been with the company from five to 30 years, and distribution of New Year perfume gift sets to all its employees.
