IT software solutions provider Alepo has announced that Orange Guinee Equatoriale (GETESA) has adopted the vendor’s ‘Service Enabler’ package, expanding the charging, billing and policy control solutions for its 2G, 3G and DSL data services. The software company claims GETESA will be able to better monetise data services across its networks, deliver a higher quality of service, send automatic SMS or email alerts to subscribers when they reach a certain data usage and generally streamline real-time operations, enabling the telco to ‘seize market opportunities as soon as they emerge.’

TeleGeography notes that the 60% state-owned telco – France’s Orange Group holds a minority 40% stake – remains the largest mobile service provider in Equatorial Guinea in terms of subscriber share, with 78.2% of the market at 30 September 2014.
