Türk Telekom Group launches a new era in TV broadcasting with Tivibu

The pioneer of Turkey's digital transformation, the Türk Telekom Group, is launching a new era in television broadcasting, adding satellite broadcasting to IPTV technology that Tivibu offers. Türk Telekom CEO Rami Aslan says," From now on, television broadcasting, with all of its dimensions, will be one of Türk Telekom Group's major fields of activity.  As Türk Telekom Group, we will re-shape the Turkish market of television broadcasting, just like we have done in other fields that we operate in. Together with Tivibu, our goal is to reach every home in Turkey that is, more than 20 million households."

The UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League will appear on TV screens in the 2015-2016 season, presented with the exclusive quality of Tivibu.

The Türk Telekom Group is taking ambitious steps in television broadcasting. By changing television viewing habits and offering the user a revolutionized TV viewing experience, Tivibu started off with IPTV and will now be expanding its horizons to include much larger audiences. With innovative satellite services such as 4K broadcasting, IPTV features like ‘Pause and Watch’, ‘Rewind and Watch’ and ‘Replay’ and other supporting features of 4 Screen technology, Tivibu will be launching a brand new era of television broadcasting in Turkey.
Having acquired the broadcasting rights of two of the most prominent sports organizations, the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League, the Türk Telekom Group is preparing to offer football fans an entirely new match-watching experience with Tivibu's developed features.
The Türk Telekom Group's broadcasting vision and the new steps the Group will be taking were announced at a press conference hosted by Türk Telekom CEO Rami Aslan, TTNET Consumer Business Unit CEO Erkan Akdemir and Türk Telekom Chief Strategy and Business Development Officer Hakan Dursun. The Group's business partner TRT was represented at the press meeting by General Manager Åženol Göka. 
"TV broadcasting is becoming one of Türk Telekom's major fields of activity"
Türk Telekom CEO Rami Aslan explained that the Group had launched a new era in TV broadcasting in Turkey and that they were determined to reshape the sector. Aslan continued:
"Our ultimate goal is to let our customers to experience the first, the best, and the fastest services. This is the essence of our integration journey.
Since 2009, we have made a difference in television broadcasting with Tivibu. We have now taken the decision to invest some more in this area.
From now on, television broadcasting, with all of its dimensions, will be one of Türk Telekom's major fields of activity.
As Türk Telekom Group, we will re-shape the Turkish market of television broadcasting, just like we have done in other fields that we operate in.
Our goal is to have the entire country benefit from premium TV broadcasting services. Together with Tivibu, our goal is to reach every home in Turkey that is, more than 20 million households."

“Our primary mission is to raise the standards of the sector”

TTNET Consumer Business Unit CEO Erkan Akdemir implied a new integrated structure, including consumer and corporate segments was established to create more value and synergy for Turkey and added “This new structure will not only allow us to provide our customers with integrated fixed and mobile services but also to offer them brand new services and products. TV broadcasting is a crucial one among our major fields of activity, which we will be managing under consumer segment now on. Under this aim we enlarge our goals by enriching our customer experience with TV and TV-like services. Our cooperation with UEFA is a significant reference for that approach. Our primary mission is to raise the standards in the sector. We always take heed of our customers’ needs when designing our services. It is important for us to design the services we offer them in an end-to-end fashion.”

“Tivibu will revolutionize the football viewing experience”
Stating that Tivibu is set to become the new address for European football, Türk Telekom Chief Strategy and Business Development Officer Hakan Dursun said:
"Besides IPTV, we will be using satellite technology to deliver two of the world's most prestigious sports events. With Türk Telekom's powerful infrastructure and technology, we are going to make match-viewing a completely different experience. Football fans are not obliged to be in front of their TVs during game time. They will watch any match whenever they want with ‘View Again’ feature. Football fans who must leave their seats at the most thrilling moment of a match may continue that excitement from the point they left with ‘Stop and View’ feature of Tivibu. Moreover, they will be able to rewind the live broadcast in IPTV and watch the most thrilling moments of the game over and over again thanks to ‘Rewind and View’ feature of Tivibu. Sports fans will be able to watch 6 matches simultaneously thanks to the Spor Mozaik (Sports Mosaic) channel, another ‘first’ in Turkey. We shall continue our HD match broadcasts and reach 4K resolution in some of the matches over satellite. We shall also introduce football fans to the option of listening to match commentary from their favorite commentators. We will continue improving and leading the TV broadcasting sector in Turkey thanks to our strong technological infrastructure and special content.
Within the scope of Türk Telekom's collaboration with TRT, one of each of the UEFA Champions League and Europa League matches to be played on Tuesdays and Thursdays will also be broadcast on an unencrypted TRT channel, simultaneously with Tivibu.
Speaking on the subject at the press conference, TRT General Manager Åženol Göka said:
“We are very proud to bring these two prestigious sports events that are watched over seven continents together with Turkish football fans on the screen of Tivibu and TRT. I wish this collaboration will be beneficial both for each broadcaster and Turkish football.”
