Under the Auspices of HE the Minister of Telecommunications Boutros Harb As part of the Alfa 4-Life CSR Program

Under the patronage of H.E. the Minister of Telecommunications, Boutros Harb, represented by his wife, Mrs. Marlene Harb, and with the support of Alfa, managed by Orascom Telecom, and as part of the “Alfa 4-Life” CSR program, autistic artist Ali Tlais, from the Lebanese Autism Society (LAS), displayed his latest paintings at his fifth exhibition, Vibrating Autism Art, which was held within the Beirut Art Fair in Biel. This fair, which brings together top artists and illustrators from around the world, was attended by Alfa Chairman and CEO Marwan Hayek, and diplomatic, political, and social figures as well as people from the art scene and the media, in addition to Alfa officials and staff.

The exhibition represented an important turning point and a great development in Ali’s artistic life, since he painted pop art paintings under the supervision of the President of the Graphic Designers Union in Lebanon, Rita Moukarzel.

Following in the footsteps of one of the most important pioneers of pop art, Andy Warhol, Ali was able to use pop art for authentic Lebanese products in his paintings, resorting to typography in writing the product names, focusing on both background and appearance.

Ali used chalk pastels to draw his portraits, which is a delicate technique used by great artists. He also used cubism and pastels, which have significant impact. In addition, Ali displayed some paintings featuring nature and colorful trees.

As is the case each year, the exhibition of Ali, who participated in the Beirut Art Fair for the third year, saw a heavy turnout, as visitors commended the great progress he made in his painting techniques.

Hayek
Alfa Chairman and CEO Marwan Hayek expressed Alfa’s pride in Ali and his talent, as he has managed to trace a future for himself with a career through which he can support himself and the LAS. Hayek declared “our support for Ali within the “Alfa 4-Life” program is a commitment to the support of people who suffer from communication difficulties. Our continuous cooperation with LAS in this context has shown its effectiveness in raising awareness about the issues of people with autism as well as their social integration”.
