Etisalat’s mobile app crosses quarter million downloads

Etisalat revealed the latest figure of over quarter million users who have downloaded the company’s new mobile app ‘Etisalat UAE’ in just over a month. 

Etisalat launched the interactive self-care app to offer customers a range of smart services on their fingertips – mobile account tracking, bill payments, instant subscription to packages and bundles, parking payment and much more.  

The high number of downloads on both, smartphones and tablets, confirms the ever-growing demand of mobile content and services in the UAE. Khaled ElKhouly, Etisalat, said, “We launched the Etisalat UAE app as an essential and valuable channel of interaction with our customers who are increasingly using their mobile devices for routine services round the clock. Our new app broke the quarter million download barrier in just over a month which is an enormous achievement for us. The massive number of transactions such as purchase of new plans and services, as well as bill payments is another indication of the app’s success.” 

New data from Etisalat also pointed out the popularity of the app’s live chat feature, which is regularly used by travellers as well who enquire about Etisalat’s roaming packs most suited to their voice calls or data requirements. 

The app is available on all platforms for free download - iOS, BlackBerry, Android and Window - and allows customers to:

-          Monitor data, voice and SMS usage as per subscribed bundles in the ‘myUsage’ section

-          View bills and register for eBill service

-          Pay your mobile bill & recharge ‘Wasel’ mobile credit using credit card

-          Keep a tab on current subscriptions and purchase new plans – roaming, data, calls or promotions

-          Pay parking tickets in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah through mParking

-          Stay updated on Etisalat’s services and promotions through alerts on ‘myNews’ 

Efficient customer service features of the app allow customers to:

-          Locate their nearest Etisalat Business Centre, payment machines, outlet and Wi-Fi hotspots through ‘Around Me’

-          Live chat with customer care representative  

Furthermore, the mobile app recommends products and services customised to each user's current package and usage, and has received positive feedback for its simplicity, design and usability. “Since launch, we have made many enhancements to the app to improve user experience. For example, the individual registration login access has been simplified and at the same time, it is more secure.  We have also made major technical improvements to offer real-time information to the users”, added Elkhouly. 

Other major developments include the ease with which customers can view their previous mobile bills, up to six months old. 

Elkhouly concluded, “In coming months, we intend to load many more exciting features to the app, making sure that it delivers high quality access and benefits to its users.” 

The app can be downloaded for free on iOS, Android, BlackBerry and Windows platforms.
