Huawei and Omnitel, the leading mobile operator in Lithuania and a part of TeliaSonera Group have deployed the Huawei Blade Site wireless base station solution for commercial use in Lithuania.
According to Huawei, the Blade Site solution, a core offering under the Huawei SingleRAN® solution portfolio efficiently utilizes the limited site footprint to enhance the network capacity, providing users with better broadband experience and helping to build a more valuable mobile broadband network. The solution can be easily mountable on walls, poles, roof top and other "zero footprint" locations, significantly enhancing installation efficiency and reducing site deployment time by up to 75 percent, said Huawei.
Huawei highlighted that the deployment of Huawei’s Blade Site solution is the world’s first large scale commercial deployment of this next-generation solution. Huawei added that the Blade Site solution has been tested by more than 10 operators worldwide and further commercial deployment by leading operators is expected by the end of this year.
