Saudi Post to sell mobile SIMs, sacrificial vouchers during Haj

Saudi Post will be selling SIM cards and top-up vouchers from the Kingdom’s three major telecom operators in and around Makkah during Haj, in addition to Islamic Development Bank (IDB) coupons for animal sacrifice.

“We want to expand our services amid new marketing and sales strategies,” said Samir Nahas, director-general of the Saudi Post in Makkah.

“We have deployed 400 employees across Makkah’s 22 post offices and seasonal counters,” he said.

“Eleven of the postal centers are located mainly around Grand Mosque exits. There are six centers in Mina, four centers in Arafa and one in Muzdalifah to cater for the huge number of pilgrims.”

“In addition, numerous field vending teams will roam the streets to sell vouchers and coupons to pilgrims in person. This is a government agency that uses state-of-the-art technology in serving its customers around the clock.”

“Saudi Post has liaised with IDB in selling Al-Hadiy and Al-Adahiee coupons in all its offices and salespoints to enable citizens, pilgrims and residents to fulfill their religious obligations of giving sacrificial meat to the poor,” he said.

“We also offer pre-paid greeting cards through post offices in Makkah. Pilgrims will be able to send these cards, which have images of both the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, to any part of the world during Eid Al-Adha.”

Priority mail will be delivered on motorcycle through a postal mobile service during Haj.
