Residents of Dubai will now be able to send their suggestions to government entities through a smartphone application, as discussed in the Dubai Suggestions Forum on Wednesday.
The third edition of The Dubai Suggestion Forum highlighted the role of the Dubai Government Unified Suggestion System, which is a system for employees and customers to lodging innovative ideas and suggestions, and explore the prospects of developing the system to become an innovative platform for exceptional service.
“Since the system was launched as a strategic initiative in May 2011, government entities have taken advantage of the system in communicating with their customers and employees, reviewing suggestions and responding to them as per a documented standard methodology. A team from the Dubai Model works side-by-side with Dubai Smart Government Department to regularly update and develop the suggestion system,” said Abdullah Al Shaibani, secretary-general of the Dubai Executive Council.
“Dubai is now working towards becoming a completely smart city. It has become a leading hub in the region in developing all its online and mobile services, gradually fulfilling the vision of Shaikh Mohammad. We came to know that it’s vital for the government to transfer all its services and systems first online and then on smartphones,” said Ahmad Abdul Salam Kazim, Director of Strategy and Corporate Excellence Department at Dubai Customs.
He added that the system is encouraging the entire community, including employees, to participate in advancing government services.
As revealed in the forum, the suggestion and complaint system can now downloaded on all Android devices and will be available to download on other smartphones in another two months, giving the entire community the opportunity to submit their suggestions to multiple entities at the same time.
The app is called Suggestions & Complaints and can be downloaded from Google Play.
