Telkom South Africa has begun rollout of 100Mbps fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) services in a number of suburbs in Gauteng (including Johannesburg), the Western Cape and Durban in its first-phase rollout of the direct fibre consumer platform, reports MyBroadband, adding that all of the initial projects are set to be completed by the end of December 2014. The news follows Telkom’s announcement in June that it was rolling out FTTH connectivity to over 20 South African suburbs across northern Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town by March 2015.
