To allow owners of Sony's core games platform have over-the-top (OTT) access to Sky Movies, Sky Sports and other TV shows, BSkyB has ported NOW TV to the PlayStation4.
Owners of the previous generation of the Sony console have been able to have OTT access to Sky programmes since May 2013 and NOW TV is also available on a wide range of devices including the NOW TV Box, PC, Mac, iPad, iPhone, Android smartphones and tablets, Xbox 360, PS3, PS4, YouView, LG Smart TVs, selected LG media devices, Roku boxes and Apple TV.
The new deal will see users be able to connect to all six Sky Sports channels and shows from ten pay-TV the channels including Sky 1, Sky Atlantic and Sky Living. NOW TV's Sky Sports Day Pass will give PlayStation owners 24-hour availability to content covering Barclays Premier League football, the English Football League, UEFA Super Cup, PGA Championship and US Open golf and Formula 1.
Commenting on the deal, Gidon Katz, director of NOW TV, said: "We're excited to be able to unveil yet another fantastic way to watch NOW TV – offering the huge number of PS4 customers in the UK a contract-free and flexible way of watching great pay TV content on their television."
