Telekom Slovenije, the parent company of alternative Bosnian fixed line operator BlicNet, has announced that the latter has inked a deal to acquire rival provider Telrad Net. According to a press release announcing the development, the planned purchase of a 100% share in Telrad Net ‘represents further strengthening of the position of … BlicNet on the Bosnian market as well as implementation of the Telekom Slovenije Group strategy, which is based on providing technologically advanced and up-to-date services to its customers’. Further, the Slovenian outfit said that this latest acquisition in Bosnia and Herzegovina is in line with the group’s strategic business plan for 2012–2016; it has set out it stall to consolidate its position as a strong regional operator and to become the first alternative provider of integrated telecommunications services in all of its markets. No financial information has been forthcoming regarding the purchase price, however, and Telekom Slovenije has said it will not disclose any further details until the transaction has been completed.
