BridgeWave to expand into North Africa

In what is being described as a boost for telecom and Internet industries across post-revolution North African countries, Wireless services supplier BridgeWave Communications announced that it will leverage off its regional partner base to expand its network across North Africa and the Middle East.

“BridgeWave has added Alltel Advance Solutions, Atlas Telecom and Comtinu as reseller partners in the Middle East North Africa region,” the company said.

Based in Dubai, the companies were selected as partners “due to their experience in selling, supporting and servicing mobile services.

“BridgeWave’s gigabit wireless services are deployed in Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates, servicing the needs of service providers, mobile operators, government and enterprise users.”

With the dramatic rise in interest in Egypt, Libya and Tunisia’s telecom and digital economies after all three countries used social media and the Internet as means of throwing off the yoke of their past regimes, BridgeWave’s entrance into the markets and its expansion is seen as a positive driver behind the local telecom markets.

It will also allow existing operators and Internet Service Providers (ISP) to increase their bandwidth and digital apparatuses without breaking their liquidity.

The new expansion project will also see new foundations laid for fiber optic cable networks across North Africa with the aim to develop rural areas within Egypt, Libya and Tunisia, as well as those within Algeria and Morocco.
